From Drone Shows to Dreams: X Social Group Partners with the Education Sector to Light Up the Creative Sky and Empower the Future Low-Altitude Economy

At X Social Group, we are not just practitioners of technology; we are igniters of dreams. As pioneers of drone shows in Hong Kong, we are dedicated to bringing breathtaking light and shadow art to the iconic Victoria Harbour.

We are not only the first enterprise to execute indoor and outdoor performances at major landmarks like the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), AsiaWorld-Expo, and the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). We have also established ourselves as the benchmark for low-altitude applications in Hong Kong through classic cases like the luxurious symphony for the top-tier brand La Mer and the dazzling fan support for K-Pop idols SEVENTEEN.

However, our mission extends beyond entertainment. We firmly believe that the burgeoning "Low-Altitude Economy" is built on a continuous stream of professional talent and cross-disciplinary creativity. Therefore, we are strategically transforming our technical advantages in commercial performance into educational resources to cultivate the next generation of talent and promote industry development.

Cultivating the Next Generation of "Sky Storytellers": Leading with "Edutainment" in Practice

X Social Group's educational layout is centered on implementing the "Edutainment" (education + entertainment) hands-on model. We don't just showcase technology; we empower talent to master it.

1. Charity + Art-Tech: Pioneering a New Model for Philanthropic Collaboration

  • Following the launch of Hong Kong's first "Low-Altitude Economy and Drone Show" training course with Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) in 2024, X Social Group is upgrading the collaboration in 2025 with the "Art Voyager . Wishes Upon Stars" (藝航天下・童夢星願) charitable drone show. The core concept is "Letting Dreams Soar Over Victoria Harbour," transforming drawings by children from Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) into drone light formations through art-tech.

  • This project is a tri-sector collaboration between X Social Group (Technical Execution), HKBU (Student Creative Transformation), and RMHC (Charitable Theme), pioneering a new "Tech for Good" paradigm.

  • Seventy HKBU students will serve as "Love Ambassadors," applying their programming and artistic design skills to digitize, animate, and program the children's drawings for the drones, achieving a true "from classroom to public good" experience.

  • The show, scheduled for January 2026 over the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, aims to raise funds for RMHC, illuminating hope and bringing warmth to sick children and their families.

2. Deep Industry-Academia Integration: City University of Hong Kong Business School Master's Drone Education Internship Program:

  • We were honored to participate in the "Corporate Collaboration Project" with the CityU College of Business. 13 master's students from diverse professional backgrounds, under our team's guidance, went through a complete "from imagination to reality" implementation. They handled everything from concept and programming to hands-on operation of drones and robotic dogs, culminating in the debut of the "Vibrant Hong Kong, Tech-Future" show, entirely student-coordinated, in the indoor airspace of the HKCEC during the Hong Kong Retail Summit 2025.

3. A Broad Educational Spectrum: From Primary/Secondary Schools to Business Enlightenment

Our talent cultivation blueprint has been fully deployed across Hong Kong, covering all age groups:

  • Singapore International School (SISHK): In September 2025, we successfully held a "Low-Altitude Economy and Smart Performance" workshop. The course integrated drone formations and robotic dog interactions, allowing over 30 students to lead a public performance combining Chinese and Western orchestras to celebrate Singapore's National Day (SG60) and the school's anniversary.

  • St. Paul's Convent School: We guided students to personally design their 170th-anniversary Victoria Harbour drone show, proving our educational model's effectiveness in unleashing the potential of the younger generation.

  • Hang Seng Bank "New Generation CEO" Incubation Program: Organized by Hang Seng Bank and executed by X Social Group, nearly 100 students participated. The program, centered on "Low-Altitude Economy + Creative Tech," infused innovative thinking into future business leaders. It covered low-altitude economy concepts, drone show choreography, directing, signal testing, and robotic dog competitions, combined with a practical internship performance at the Hang Seng Bank HQ for a comprehensive "theory-to-practice" learning experience.

  • Yuen Long Lutheran Secondary School Drone Training Camp: We go deep into secondary school campuses, leading students to explore the low-altitude economy and ignite their innovative future. We introduce advanced drone technology and teaching philosophies to create diverse learning opportunities, opening a door to the future world of technology.

Setting Industry Standards: From "Performer" to "Enabler"

X Social Group's strategy is "Perform to Teach, Teach to Research." We recognize that the development of the low-altitude economy depends on safety and standardization. To this end, we actively feed our frontline operational experience back into academic research, proactively uniting industry and academia to establish technical standards.

At the end of 2024, X Social Group led the initiative, collaborating with top institutions including the Damoda, Greater Bay Area Low-Altitude Economy Alliance, China Unicom (Hong Kong) Innovation Research Institute, Hong Kong Telecom, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and the Hong Kong Institute of Information Security, to jointly launch the "Drone Take-Off Reliability Index" (DTORI).

This index aims to provide a scientific, objective assessment standard for the flight safety of drones in Hong Kong's complex urban environment, laying a solid foundation for the industry's healthy development.

Our Vision: Co-Creating the Future of Industry and Academia

From commercial applications (performance) to talent cultivation (education), and on to standard-setting (research), X Social Group has formed a complete ecosystem loop. We are not just "Sky Storytellers" who know how to tell compelling narratives; we are active enablers of the "Low-Altitude Economy."

We firmly believe that technology provides the wings for dreams to fly. We sincerely invite more universities, colleges, primary and secondary schools, and forward-thinking corporate partners to connect with us. Let's work together to empower the future and build a broader creative sky for the next generation!
