Singapore International School’s Drone and Robodog Showcase: A Roaring Success - A New Frontier in Edutainment Learning!

On 13 Sept 2025, Singapore International School proudly hosted the “Low-Altitude Economy & Smart Showcase” Drone Performance Bootcamp, drawing more than 30 fully-immersed students. Rooted in Edutainment - education through entertainment - the programme blended drone-swarms with interactive robodogs. Modules spanned low-altitude-economy theory, swarm-algorithm design, hands-on flight ops and a public finale, turbo-charging students’ STEM literacy and digital competitiveness.

The gala, themed “Celebrating Singapore’s National Day & SIS’s Anniversary”, was honoured by the presence of Singapore’s Consul-General in Hong Kong. The show unfolded in three creative acts:

Act 1 – “Together for Singapore”

Drones and the student symphony orchestra shared the stage. Precision-positioned quadcopters drew the Hong Kong Lion Rock, Singapore’s Merlion, a dual-city handshake logo, SG60 (60 years of independence) and China’s beloved panda—merging tech, culture and education in the night sky.

Act 2 – “Human & Robot, Dance & Create”

Four students coded their robodogs to deliver a five-minute dynamic routine, then let the crowd’s cheers trigger real-time improvisations—proof of project-based learning that sharpens computational thinking and on-the-spot problem solving.

Act 3 – “Celebrating Our School”

Drones and the Chinese orchestra closed the evening. The fleet spelled SISHK, rotated a glowing Earth, sketched Marina Bay Sands and ended in a kaleidoscopic drone-firework burst—broadcasting the power of cross-curricular STEAM education.

Students and parents agreed: the two-day forum plus three-day workshop gave learners not only piloting and coding skills, but also design flair, teamwork grit and public-speaking confidence.
