Drone Light Show Education: How X Social Group Nurtures the Next Gen of Creative Producers in the Low-Altitude Economy

Updated: 1 day ago

As the national "15th Five-Year Plan" progresses, the "Low-Altitude Economy" has officially integrated into our daily lives and commercial markets. However, future competition in the low-altitude economy will no longer just be a battle of hardware; instead, it will be a comprehensive demonstration of cross-border event planning capabilities, artificial intelligence applications, marketing, and spatial visual storytelling.

In the education sector, we are witnessing an unprecedented transformation: future students do not need rote memorization; instead, they need to become "Creative Producers" who treat the sky as a canvas and use technology to tell moving stories.

As a pioneer in low-altitude cultural creativity and art technology (Art Tech) in the Asia-Pacific region, X Social Group has successfully built a "Drone Light Show Edutainment Training Ecosystem" that has swept through Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Rather than teaching students to be mere programmers, we fully dedicate ourselves to cultivating drone show directors and screenwriters who can control the entire stage.

Below, through real-world collaboration cases from seven top-tier institutions, we decode for principals, visual arts heads, and event teachers how to ignite students' creative thinking through "Storyboard" design and drone arrays.

🏫 I. Case Studies: Seven Institutions' "Sky Director" Cultivation

💡 International & Elite Schools: Storyboards and Night Sky Narratives

1. Hong Kong Baptist University (CLAP-TECH) – Sky Pageants & On-Site Internships at National-Level Mega Events

We collaborated with HKBU CLAP-TECH to drive a real-world case study on drone light shows, allowing students to experience a complete "Commercial Creative Producer" workflow:

  • Storyboarding & Humanistic Care: Students used AI to deeply mine hand-drawn artwork by underprivileged communities and the elderly, transforming them into drone light show storyboards over Victoria Harbour to amplify emotional value.

  • Top-Tier National Internships: Outstanding students received golden opportunities to participate directly in on-site internships for large-scale drone performance events. Working alongside veteran engineers on the front line, they gained invaluable internship experience in the low-altitude economy—one of the hottest sectors in the future commercial market.

2. City University of Hong Kong – Pushing Boundaries on the Grand Stage of the HKCEC

Research in higher education requires the toughest testing grounds. Referencing our successful experience in executing the first indoor drone show at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), CityU's team worked with us to tackle how to overcome UWB (Ultra-Wideband) centimeter-level precision positioning technology in an indoor exhibition environment packed with signal interference. Concurrently, they designed high-density, close-range indoor drone show storyboards for commercial clients, achieving a perfect integration of industry, academia, and research.

💡 International & Elite Schools: Storyboarding & Night Sky Narrative

3. Singapore International School – A Cross-Border "Edutainment" Light Show Blueprint

Drawing from our successful experience driving drone shows for international school students across the APAC region, we introduced an international-caliber drone light show choreography curriculum to the school. During the design process, students first hand-drew storyboards depicting cross-cultural stories, and then used code to transform these 2D images into 3D dynamic matrices in the night sky—perfectly executing the first step of being a creative producer.

4. Hang Seng Bank Next-Gen CEO Drone Training Program – Technological Transformation for Business Leaders

In Aug 2025, the "Next-Gen CEO Enlightenment Course — Drone Show Training Program," hosted by Hang Seng Bank and organized by X Social Group, led nearly a hundred youth elites through a magnificent transformation from "tech novices" to "sky creative producers."

  • Breaking the Traditional STEM Framework: This program pioneered a core focus on "Low-Altitude Economy + Creative Tech," bringing the full behind-the-scenes production pipeline of a drone light show into the classroom to fully stimulate students' business acumen, teamwork, and visual storytelling skills.

  • 3D Storyboard Production Practice: Students personally transformed creative concepts into 3D storyboards, learning to balance aesthetic design with airspace physical constraints, and using code to arrange flat sketches into three-dimensional light matrices in the night sky.

  • Real-World Business Scene Testing at HQ: The final performance was held at "The Penthouse" on the top floors of Hang Seng Bank’s Central Headquarters. Under the guidance of professional mentors, students challenged highly difficult indoor positioning signal tests (UWB technology) and multi-drone fleet performances, troubleshooting rapidly in an environment without GPS signals to perfectly train their adaptability. The course also introduced quadruped robotic dog competitions, achieving multi-dimensional AI synergy across land, sea, and air.

5. St. Paul's Convent School – An Elite Girls' School's Sky Feast of "Visual Storytelling × Symphony"

In the 'Drone Light Show Training Program,' students from St. Paul's demonstrated stunning directorial talent. The project broke new ground by seamlessly pairing drone show script design with live Western and Chinese orchestral symphony performances by the students. Stepping into the role of creative producers, the students utilized AI tools to conceptualize visual stories, hand-drew storyboards, and compiled flight path codes. This allowed the drone array to dance precisely over the campus to the rhythm of the music, setting a new benchmark for art technology in the academic community.

📐 Local Secondary School Deep Cultivation: Igniting Team Leadership from Sketch to Execution

6. Yuen Long Lutheran Secondary School – Stepping Out of the Classroom for Outdoor Camp Light Show Rehearsals

Technological creativity should not be confined by four walls. Through our drone popularization initiative, our technical mentor team led students to a holiday camp. Students collaborated in groups with clear divisions of labor: some responsible for the story outline, some drawing storyboards, and others handling RTK signal tuning. In a real-world outdoor environment with light breezes and signal interference, the students managed the on-site scheduling of a mini drone light show just like a professional production team, developing flexible resilience against setbacks and communication skills.

7. Kowloon Sam Yuk Secondary School – The Three-Dimensional Collision of Spatial Geometry & Visual Arts

We brought a new perspective of "spatial visual technology" to the school. Students transformed into spatial designers inside the indoor gymnasium, deconstructing originally flat visual art drawings into coordinate points in a 3D space. By translating storyboards into visible drone flight paths, students deeply grasped the combination of three-dimensional geometry and light art through "play and creation."

🛠️ Part 2. X Social Group's Three Core "Drone Creative Producer" Training Frameworks
