X Social Group Partners with HKBU to Sign MOU: Jointly Launching the DTORI Drone Standard and ARTOPIA Charity Project

The low-altitude economy is rapidly developing into a new engine driving high-quality global growth. At the recently concluded "Smart Soaring: HKBU Low-Altitude Economy Summit 2026," 32 top leaders from the political, business, and technology sectors successfully gathered to jointly blueprint the future development of Hong Kong towards a smart city and a low-altitude economy.

Powerful Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration: X Social Group Signs MoU with HKBU to Establish International Standards

Samuel Lam, CEO of X Social Group, acting in his dual role as Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Professor Terence Lau, Chief Innovation Officer of HKBU. The signing was witnessed by Dr. Kennedy Wong, Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU, and Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU.

This partnership is more than just a commitment; it is the cornerstone of X Social Group's dedication to nurturing future talents in the low-altitude economy and digital transformation for Hong Kong. Both parties will work hand in hand to promote the research and application of the "Drone Take-off Reliability Index" (DTORI) and strive to elevate it to an international standard, further consolidating Hong Kong's position as an international innovation and technology hub.

Practicing ESG and Tech for Good: The ARTOPIA Charity Project Lets Disadvantaged Children's Dreams Take Flight

While exploring cutting-edge drone technologies and commercial applications, we never forget our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The most touching moment of the entire summit was the "ARTOPIA" charity project, jointly incubated by us and HKBU.

Through the cutting-edge technology of drone light shows and the interdisciplinary strength of HKBU, we transformed cold technology into warm humanistic care. Seeing the innocent stories and grand dreams of chronically ill children turn into the brightest starlight over Victoria Harbour, tears of emotion shimmered in the eyes of all the guests present. In that moment, we truly realized the ultimate meaning of "Tech for Good, Empowering the Community."

We were incredibly honored to exchange ideas with heavyweight guests from various sectors, including Mable Chan from the Transport and Logistics Bureau; Hon. Elizabeth Quat, Founding President of the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance, and Vice President Dr. Winnie Tang; Dr. Wingco Lo, President of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong; Ms. Agnes Chan, Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; and Mr. Bond Law, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Retail Management Association.

Meanwhile, representatives from the Civil Aviation Department, Hong Kong Productivity Council, InvestHK, ASTRI, MTR, the three major telecom operators (HKT, China Unicom, China Telecom), Phoenix Wings (SF Express), ESRI, Smart City Consortium, Our Hong Kong Foundation, Data Literacy Association, Hong Chi Association, Damoda and X Social Group also attended the event in full force.

Gathering these cross-sector leaders here not only demonstrates HKBU's strong industry-academia network but also highlights the firm determination of our industry, academia, and research sectors to jointly lead Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area into a new era of the low-altitude economy.
